Authors Note: This is a poem I wrote in response to an activity done in class, it is about an apple core, and if you look closely, that's what the poem is shaped like.
Chomp,
Chomp,
Chomp,
I chew on the apple,
Crisp and juicy,
Green and yellow,
Until the core is
bared,
Then it gets thrown
away,
Like an old toy,
How does it feel,
Does it feel at all?
Although it was living,
Now it’s dead,
And rotting,
What a waste,
What a shame,
But still I keep on
eating apples,
And throwing out the
cores,
Because they’re so
tasty,
Green and yellow,
Crisp and juicy,
Chomp,
Chomp,
Chomp.
